Welcome to Marine Wharf

Introduction

Marine Wharf (West) is a 7 acre brownfield site owned by Berkeley Homes. It forms the central site of the Surrey Wharves masterplan area.

Surrey Wharves masterplan area is made up of six sites in individual ownerships, totalling 7.5ha (18.5 acres) of brownfield land. The size and deliverability of the individual sites provides an excellent opportunity to regenerate this area of Deptford in a comprehensive and proactive manner.

Berkeley Homes has prepared a masterplan for Surrey Wharves, although Berkeley Homes only owns and controls the site known as Marine Wharf (West), formerly the Jet Stationary building. The masterplan aims to demonstrate how the combined sites at Surrey Wharves could be redeveloped in a comprehensive and joined up manner to avoid piecemeal development and ensure the principles of best practice in planning and urban design are delivered. The masterplan will inform the detailed planning application for Marine Wharf (West) expected to be submitted to the London Borough of Lewisham in early 2010.
